The Lighthouse Keeper
by DJ Burnham

An unprecedented danger has grounded space traffic across the sector. It would take one man to resolve the crisis, but at what cost?

I like how Mr. Burnham always includes illustrations.  Maybe I'll start!

Hi Laura and Mark,

Glad you like the artwork, it's a mixture of Decoupage, Photoshop and my own photos.

I like to round off the creative process by realising something of the story in an illustration.

I'd certainly encourage you to have a go.

If you're interested, you can see other examples that have escaped the dark recesses of the Burnham mind at:-

Plus a few album cover designs:-

Thanks for your kind feedback on the artwork.

All the best,

DJB

I've read the first few paragraphs to this story - (I will have to read more later and finish it; I see it's long) - but I just wanted to say that so far it is a Great Story (from the beginning paragraphs I have read) - and also the Artwork Attachment I think is SUPERB!!! Great idea.

Loved the Doctor Who Exhibit pics on your site, the ones from the new series.  That was in Brighton, right? Not the Museum of the Moving Image - (I think that's what it is called) - where they have all the "old" WHO monsters retired for peole to see.

Hi Lawrence,

Yeah, that was the Brighton Dr Who exhibition - seemed a little churlish not to go and check it out, as it was only a 20 minute walk away.

Thanks for your positive comments on the story, I write each one with as fresh an approach as possible...keeps me entertained anyway.

Work has kicked off a bit in the past week (with big changes afoot in NHS funding) so I may disappear for a while, but when things settle down I plan to try to read more of everyone else's work on this splendid site.

Meanwhile, hope life's treating you well,

TTFN
